Individual applications from prospective course participants are welcome and should bear in mind the following requirements:

 

eligibility

In order to be accepted as a student in the Master’s course, applicants should provide proof of the following eligibility criteria:

1. Successful completion of a first university degree at least equivalent to the German Bachelor.

2. Proof of good knowledge of the English language. This can be provided by a TOEFL test (written test 550 points or computer test 213 points). Alternatively the UNIcert® III is acceptable or another equivalent certificate. Applicants living in Germany may also make a free language test at the language centre of TUD.  Applicants whose mother tongue is English or who completed their previous studies at an English speaking university need not provide a language certificate.

3. Personal suitability to follow and contribute to the course which will be assessed by means of:
• Basic knowledge of the urban development and/or international cooperation issues either through previous work experience or the subject of the first university degree (for example urban planning, architecture, urban sociology, geography, urban economics, politics etc.) or relevant own publications
• Good marks awarded in previous university studies
• A meaningful CV
• Good understanding of the course’s objectives and it’s usefulness for the applicants personal career – as outlined in a motivation letter to be submitted by the applicant.

As a first step the applicant must complete the online application form at the webpage of Darmstadt University .During this process, the applicant will also obtain an Application Number, which should be indicated for all communication with the International Academic Office of Darmstadt :

A printout of the online application including paper versions of the attachments listed below should be sent to

PAR will forward your application to the International Academic Office of TU Darmstadt.

A soft copy of your application pack should be sent as one single PDF file to mail@mundus-urbano.eu

All applications must be supplied together with:
 

a) certified copies of last academic diplomas obtained
b) a transcript of records showing subjects studies and marks obtained
     (only certified copies but no originals as those will not be returned!)
c) A recent CV in English, German or Spanish
d) Certification of work experience from your employer
e Certification of successful English language test
f) 2-page letter explaining motivation and expectations for the course

deadlines Applications for the MSc course 'International Cooperation and Urban development' are accepted until June 15th every year. However, since places are being filled up by Erasmus Mundus applicants from l December 1st, of the previous year onwards, it is advisable to apply as early as possible.
